*JPIC-Moot Court Activity*
On 1st August 2025, a special Moot Court activity was organized by the JPIC (Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation) team for the Legal Studies students of Classes XI and XII at St. Mary’s Convent Inter College, Prayagraj. The event was conducted in the Lower Concert Hall of SMCIC, providing a formal and immersive courtroom-like atmosphere. It was held under the guidance and leadership of our respected Principal, Reverend Sister Lissy and Vice Principal, Reverend Sister Namita.
The session aimed to offer students practical exposure to legal reasoning, courtroom procedures, and advocacy, echoing JPIC’s mission of nurturing socially responsible and justice driven individuals.
The activity began with a warm welcome to the judges, sisters, teachers, and students, followed by a brief introduction highlighting the relevance of moot courts in legal education. Students took on various courtroom roles such as judges, advocates, and researchers and engaged in a simulated legal proceeding based on a case concerning environmental issues and the violation of fundamental rights.
The case challenged participants to apply their understanding of constitutional provisions, especially the right to life, and explore the balance between environmental protection and individual rights. The students exhibited remarkable critical thinking, legal articulation, and teamwork throughout the session.
The activity concluded with insightful feedback from the faculty, applauding the students’ effort, preparation, and enthusiasm. Reverend Sister Namita addressed the gathering with words of appreciation and encouragement, praising the initiative and its impact on shaping young, informed citizens.
This JPIC initiative proved to be an engaging and enriching experience, inspiring students to think deeply about justice, responsibility, and the power of law in building a better society.
