The Quest: SMC’s 159th Annual Celebration of Talent and Hope
Students of St. Mary’s Convent Inter College brought to life the spirit of “The Quest” through music, dance, and drama.
The 159th Annual Concert of St. Mary’s Convent Inter College, held on the vibrant evening of 1st November,2025 celebrated art, intellect, and imagination under the theme “The Quest.”
The evening was presided over by His Lordship, the Rev. Bishop Louis Mascarenhas, Bishop of the Diocese of v guys Allahabad, with Ms Saumya Agrawal, IAS, Divisional Commissioner, as the Chief Guest.
The concert was also graced by Hon’ble Mr Mudit Chandra, IRPS, HR Head, North Central Railways, and Rev. Sr. Shweta CJ, Provincial Superior, Congregation of Jesus, Allahabad Province, as Guest of Honour.
Ms Madalsa Srivastava, Assistant Director (Finance), Government of Uttar Pradesh, and alumna Ms Urja Raheja were among the special guests The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by the Manager, Rev. Sr. Sumita CJ, the Principal, Rev. Sr. Lissy CJ, and the Vice Principal, Rev. Sr. Namita CJ.
The concert opened with a Class 9 ballet paying tribute to Prayagraj, the city of heritage and confluence and to Mother Mary Ward’s vision of courage, compassion, and education. A graceful classical dance followed, setting a serene tone for the evening.
Performances such as “Hugs of Gratitude,” “On the Wings of Freedom,” “Whispering Streets,” and “Secret of the Mirror” showcased moral reflection and creativity. The Rhythm Raiders, SMC’s iconic marching band, energised the crowd, while “Cosmic Quest” celebrated India’s scientific achievements.“The Broken Compass” by Class 8 moved the audience with its emotional depth, and “Countdown to Truce” by Classes 9 and 10 depicted the triumph of peace over conflict. “Roots to Radiance” by Class 11 honoured India’s handmade legacy, and “The Covenant” by Class 12 gave dramatic form to the Preamble of the Indian Constitution.
Smc was indeed a sight to behold!
The Chief Guest, Ms. Saumya Agarwal, who is also an alumna of Smc expressed her joy and appreciated the efforts of the Smcians. She also urged the girls to break their goals into smaller steps to reach their destination.
The evening concluded with the Vote of Thanks and National Anthem, marking an inspiring celebration of talent, values, and hope at St. Mary’s Convent Inter College, Prayagraj.
