Description:
Plastic pollution and its accumulation in the earth’s environment adversely affects wildlife, wildlife habitat and human. Plastics are inexpensive but very durable and as a result, levels of plastic production by human are high. However, the chemical structure of most plastics renders them resistant to many natural process of degradation and as a result, they are slow to degrade. This has led to a high prominence of plastic pollution in the environment.
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the students of St. Mary’s Convent Inter College, Prayagraj paid homage to Gandhiji on 5th October, 2019 by promoting his idela of ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’ and also ushering in the Swachh Bharat Mission which is a nation-wide campaign in India that aims to promote cleanliness.
The students of Classes 6 to 9 made huge colourful garlands and flower pots out of plastic bags and bottles to bid farewell to the use of plastic bags and bottles which was creativity displayed by the students. If we stop using plastic, eventually a day will come when we will be using a substitute for plastic and the world will have something to hold on to.
